Highlights from New York

As I mentioned previously, one thing that took up a lot of my time in June was my vacation. I went with my family to New York City. None of us had been there before, and it was the number one travel destination on my list. We had a great time, if a bit exhausting. We averaged six or seven miles of walking a day. I took plenty of pictures so I thought I’d share a few of my favorite things and places. Hope you enjoy!

It rained the first day we were there, but that didn’t stop us from exploring Times Square. I quickly became an expert at umbrella dodging. The next day we took a tour of downtown Manhattan, including the new World Trade Center building and 9/11 Memorial.

Other sightseeing included the Empire State Building, the New York Public Library, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Central Park.

On our last day, we explored Grand Central Terminal and then took a ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. We ended things with a big dinner in Rockefeller Plaza. Our walk back to the hotel let us see another side of the city, which is just as beautiful at night.
